BOOKING A MOVE
- Having accurate move details in advance will help us to provide an accurate quote and ensure our moving crew efficiency on the moving date. So, please, be as thorough and candid as much as possible describing your moving project. If you have any changes after booking our services, simply, email or call us and we will make sure that our team will be prepared.
PARKING
- Arrange parking at every place where you want movers to stop. Some busy streets may require a parking permit obtained from local authorities; request a parking permit at least 5 business days prior to a moving date. Not arranging parking in advance may lead to the move going slower as movers will need to look for the nearest legal parking.
GETTING READY FOR THE MOVE
- change the address with DMV and USPS
- switch utilities
- arrange parking for your movers
- pack valuable items (jewelry, documents, medicine) by yourself
SELF-PACKING. Please note, that FB Movers can do packing for you! Here are some tips for self-packing below.
- Being fully packed prior to movers' arrival will make your move going safely and quickly.
- Pack all stuff into brand-new boxes as used boxes may be flimsy.
- Use small and medium-size boxes for most of the stuff.
- Make sure that the boxes are taped well from at the bottom and top.
- The top of each box should be flat.
- Use crushed paper to fill in hollow spaces in the boxes.
- Start packing as in advance as possible because packing fragile items such as glassware takes a lot of time.
- Pack all the stuff from dressers, desks, and cabinets to avoid damages to your furniture during the move.
ELEVATOR
- Check with your property management if you need to make a reservation for the elevator to be used by movers.
FINAL WALK-THROUGH
- After the movers are done with loading, check your current place to make sure that nothing is forgotten before movers leave for a new place.
- After the move is completed, check the truck and your place to make sure that everything has been unloaded and arranged as you need.
